Silicon emulsion

Silicone emulsions are inert, heat stable, non-toxicity products, which suit many industrial applications where lubrication, gloss, antistatic, protective and release properties are advantageous. Silicone emulsions can be divided into three groups depending on the type of emulsifier system used, they can be: anionic, cationic and non-ionic. Most emulsions are non-ionic as they are compatible with either of the other two systems but depending on the application, cationic or anionic emulsions can be chosen.


GP 355 Emulsion

Applications

· Water borne silicone fluid for lubrication and siliconization of glass, metals, plastics and rubber.

 

HOW TO USE

· Before use, the GP 355 Emulsion must be mixed thoroughly to ensure that emulsion is homogenous.

· Depending upon the application the product may be diluted to 1-5% silicone with ambient temperature water for Injection water. The resulting solution may be applied to articles by spraying, brushing or by diping bath. After water has evaporated which can be accelerated with heat, the resultant film is lubricious , hydrophobic film of Polydimethylsiloxane fluid.

This silicone emulsions allows emulsification of extremely high viscosity methyl end blocked dimethyl silicone. Silicone emulsions are used in a wide range of industrial and consumer products such as, release agents for rubber and plastic, hot metal lubricants and coatings. The specialized equipment also allows custom emulsification of fluids or oils using your emulsifier packages. Tailor made silicone emulsions with various active content too are manufactured

Aqueous Emulsion

GPHS-2 Silicone Emulsion

GPHS-2 Emulsion is a non fugitive and primarily non-ionic emulsion containing 25% dimethyl silicone fluid. It is an effective and widely used release agent for rubber moulding and for shell moulds and cores for casting metals. This emulsion creates a thin but highly effective parting film It does not carbonise or gum even at temperature which would quickly destroy organic mould release agents, does not build up on moulds, and does not discolour or damage rubber or plastics.

Silicone Emulsion Release Agent

GPHS Emulsion is majorly used as a release agents/lubricant in a wide variety of cases, the following are examples of many uses for this well-established product. It contains 20 percent active ingredient.

GP SD 30 EMULSION

Gayatri Polychem silicon defoamers and silicon antifoams are high performance silicone based products containing non- ionic surfactants and functional additives. Foam formation is the result of dissolved molecules in a liquid. The dissolved molecules alter the surface tension of the liquid, and can be viewed as surface active agents (surfactants). The surfactants can be non-ionic, cationic, anionic, or amphoteric. The liquid can be either aqueous, non-aqueous, or both (some industrial systems may contain dissolved organics which require special consideration). Different surfactants will generate different types of silicone antifoams, antifoam emulsion, silicone antifoam emulsion and foam stability. When agitated, bubbles will form, which will immediately encounter gravitational effects pulling liquid along the bubble walls back down into the liquid beneath the bubble. A simplified picture of a bubble can be described as spherical, having both an outer wall and inner wall. When the surface tension is high enough, bubble formation becomes more rigid and stable. If a bubble is subjected to mechanical agitation, bubbles caused by entrained air, would form very stable lamellar structures. The Marangoni effect is a major stabilizing factor in foam, and is driven by osmotic pressure. In some cases, the aqueous liquid is being pulled through the bubbles'' walls creating regions of low and high surfactant concentrations, which sets up a gradient along the bubbles'' surface. The gradient would pump liquid back onto the bubble walls, where this phenomenon is referred to as a surface transport. The bulk viscosity also contributed to foam stability. As the viscosity of liquids increase, entrained air, now a bubble, can be trapped below the liquid’s surface. Increasing viscosity of the system also reduces the coalescence capability of smaller bubbles merging to become larger bubbles. If the bubbles become large enough (increasing the diameter), bubble stability decreases.
